Humanspace Empires is a fan-made game taking place in the star-spanning super-science pulp setting Tekumel (the planet of the 1975 Empire of the Petal Throne game) belonged to before being thrown into a pocket dimension.
The game was created by Drune of Ix Blog and uses a system compatible with Labyrinth Lord and Mutant Future. The setting is evocative of 1930-1960's pulp sci-fi of Astounding Science Fiction and similar magazines but but it has enough kitchen-sink/gonzo potential to easilly fit elements of 1970's sci-fi craziness, Star Wars, Dune, Foundation, Metabarons, etc. Flash Gordon and Ming of Mongo wouldn't be totaly out of place here, and Mars bears more than a certain resemblance to the one visited by John Carter.
Heat-ray pistols, Disintegrator rifles, Plastic Actualizers or Lenses, Astronaut Cults and Mystery Religions, Clonemasters and Cymek Lords, Diambrite D-4 explosive and sub-atomic Planet Buster bombs, Interfogulators and Interplanar energy sources, PSY Powers and Super-Scientific abilities, Sultyat Imperial Clone Legions of the Veritable Autocrator and Inimical Alien races, the 16 great Ketyel Noble Houses, multitudes of Slaves and Proles, the dreaded Veregyá Imperial secret police, Powered Heavy Space Armor and Latexium Suits, spaceship Boarding Actions and Duranium Poleaxes, Gladiatorial Arenas and Primitive weapons, Multi-Limbed Sophonts and Cloned Humanoid Reptiles in Mars, swords made of Psychic Energy and personal energy Shield Belts, Demons and threats from beyond reality, Adventurers, Astronauts, Scientists, Warriors and Mutants...and more!

If you don't know what EPT/Tekumel is, ask an old-timer or visit http://www.tekumel.com/ but pay heed that what is described there takes place some 75,000 years in the future of Humanspace Empires and familiarity with it is not needed to play HE. The descriptions of the alien races will be useful though.
If you are interested cross the nearest Nexus Point, drop by, and roll up a player character. No Psy-Luck or Probabilistic Perversion permitted upon the dice. Beware of the giant Cymek guardian and take caution not to fall into the space-time loop.
